WIP: Major II – Helen Killer

this is a photoshop mockup of what will be a fabric rendition (waiting for the dog fabric to arrive) – it’s the High Priestess card with Helen superimposed on it for now. I was going to leave the B and J pillars alone, because, well, “BJ”, but thinking about it for a bit, I think W and F would be much better. Or do you think I should spell it out? Will people get W F or is that too obscure?

She’ll be holding a moustache on a stick, if I can render her hand so it looks like a hand and not a lobster claw.  Also notice, the other sandal is on her foot.

    1. I see I have to spell it out. It’s not supposed to mean “WTF” but Whimsicle Fuckery. I can spell the words vertically on the pillars.

      1. Well it just might be me, I had to take meds for a migraine and my brain is pretty disconnected and floaty which means I’m really slow on the uptake right now.

  1. Seems like WF can be both What the Fuck and Whimsical Fuckery…..I love things with double meanings… because I also went right for the WtF too…. wish there was a way to work both into it..

Loving the initials — if you have to spell it out, maybe could you have faded lettering for the himsicle uckery parts?

  2. I think I’m going to leave it as it is, and leave it ambiguous – it is after all, a tarot deck and stuff needs to be left for interpretation. I also am feeling too lazy to embroider all those letters. Now I need to wait for that dog fabric to show up.

  3. I started making this from fabric tonight. The face doesn’t look as much like her as it does in photoshop, but I found this great scrap in my collection of martini glasses with glitter around the rims (maybe salt for margaritas?) which is going to be the backdrop between the pillars.

I’m working 9×12 inches, which is way too small for good detail.

  4. I wish I drank …I’d make a martini to celebrate this..I love this card. I love this deck. I love you PBCGE for doing this project. this is just so fucking awesome.

  5. You said above that you are working it 9×12, I made mine 9×15 (4 multiplied by the original measurements of 2.25×3.75). Was mine wrong?

  6. No, mine’s wrong… Do not worry. It will all be “fixed in the mix.”

  7. Whew! I was starting to wonder if I’ve have to redo mine or if some creative cropping would work! 🙂
