Very rough sketch of the 4 of Tools. I appreciate any comments. The owls are perched on embroidery hoops tied to a tree limb, except for the 4th one, which has fallen. I tied this to the 4 of swords, which has a person lying at the bottom of the card. I don’t think it’s clear whether the person in the card is dead or sleeping, so I tried to leave this one ambiguous as well.
I like it, and I’m really impressed with the way you are working the Tarot images into the pieces so effortlessly.
Thanks feketenoemi! I’m doing this one as a digital oil painting, sort of impressionistic. I wanted something different after the two major arcana cards, which were similar in style. I can’t wait for this cool as shit deck to be printed! I’m loving everyone’s contributions and I’ve had so much fund working on this with all of you guys.
I like the way his feet are sticking up in the air. Have you seen Where The Wild Things Are? It reminded me of the owls getting smashed around in that.
